Each note card helps increases  awareness of NHL by providing the following text on the back: 

Over half a million people are living with Lymphoma -- a cancer that is on the rise.

Like other cancers, lymphomas are associated with DNA mutations which leads to abnormal protein expression in the affected cells -- in this case malignant lymphocytes -- immune cells. 
This  alters their behavior: prevents the cells from dying when they should, or causes sustained rapid cell division. These malignant cells then may accumulate to form tumors that may enlarge the lymph nodes or spread to other areas of the lymphatic system, such as the spleen or bone marrow. Lymphoma can also spread or first appear outside the lymphatic system -- so called extranodal disease.
